The Co-operative Journey Wall made its way to Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' School on Tuesday, 30 June 2015 and we were there to answer any questions the students had. The girls were a lively bunch (commenting that our wall had too much text) but were diligently walking around the exhibition looking for answers to the questions we had prepared for them.

As part of our fourth Co-op Hot Shots photography competition, we organized an Instagram Photography workshop on Saturday, 4 July 2015 in partnership with InstaSG – a group of Instagrammers – and National Youth Council (NYC). As this is the first year we will be having an Instagram category, the workshop’s aim was to give our participants a few tips on how to make their Instagram photos better.

It was with sadness that we read the news of ICA President Pauline Green announcing her retirement during the annual meeting of Co-operatives UK in Birmingham on 26 June 2015. The first female president in the alliance’s 120-year history, Dame Pauline was a major contributor to the co-operative movement since assuming the position in 2009.

Mr Tan Suee Chieh, Group CEO of NTUC Enterprise will be a speaker at the Global Conference in Antalya 2015. He will be sharing examples of how co-operatives can raise capital effectively while respecting the unique structure of their ethics-based business model during the 11 November session of “Ensuring reliable sources for co-operative capital”.

Caring for seniors is not easy. If the elderly person being cared for suffers from age-related illnesses such as dementia and Alzheimer’s, the process can be made all the more trying for the caregiver. That’s when an enterprise such as Silver Caregivers Co-operative Limited (SCCL) steps in to help.

Introducing the Co-op Wefie! The next time an SNCF staff visits your co-op, you might receive a strange request from him or her to take a group picture – don’t be shy!
The Campus & Youth team was present at the Youth Entrepreneur Symposium (YES) 2015 on Wednesday, 17 June 2015 to spread awareness on the co-operative way as a potential business model for future young entrepreneurs to follow. YES 2015 is an inaugural youth-run symposium organised by entrepreneur clubs from the 5 polytechnics. SNCF was also one of the sponsors for the event.
